SO...YOU HAVE QUESTIONS!

NO SURPRISE THERE!!

Online meetings are not a new thing - however, given the current landscape, we are definitely having to find new ways to connect.

MDG has added additional security measures to ensure you are able to have a safe and secure meeting. All those with a desire to stop drinking, are welcome.

Please refer to the daily links, they will will provide you with the most recent information.

CONNECTION is the foundation of AA. One Alcoholic helping Another.

A few easy things to remember:

  • Once you click on the zoom link, it will give you options, like video and audio, If you feel comfortable, accept! If you are calling in, all the access codes are in the Daily access areas.

  • Once you arrive, feel free to say hi! Connection is important and EVERYONE is happy you are there!

  • Once you are online, the bottom of the window will give you access to the Tool Bar, you will be able to click on a few options like Mute, Video, Chat, Participants - if you access the Chat and Participants, the side of the screen opens and you will see you fellow attendees - as well as an area to write in.

  • Staying on mute is a polite way to keep the sound low, while people are sharing. The Co Chair will mute the group as the script outlines

  • The Chair / Host will keep things running along smoothly if there are any disruptions. The host will have the ability to mute / unmute everyone.

  • If you would like to share, after the reading the Chairperson will advise the flow of sharing.

  • If you are accessing by phone, the Chair will request anyone by phone to let them know so they may put your name in the list.

  • Still have questions? The Chair will be able to help, either by writing a private message to the chair during the meeting or at the end of the meeting.

  • This is NEW to most of us, so don’t feel alone. We are all trying to figure out what this new landscape looks like!

If you are new to Zoom, and want to access the group meetings, and have questions on HOW to download Zoom, please go to:

WE ARE A STRONG GROUP OF SOBER PEOPLE, WE WELCOME EVERYONE WHO HAS THE DESIRE TO STOP DRINKING.

A.A.’s Legacy of Service / by Bill W.

“Our Twelfth Step — carrying the message — is the basic service that the A.A. Fellowship gives; this is our principal aim and the main reason for our existence. Therefore, A.A. is more than a set of principles; it is a society of alcoholics in action. We must carry the message, else we ourselves can wither and those who haven’t been given the truth may die.

Hence, an A.A. service is anything whatever that helps us to reach a fellow sufferer — ranging all the way from the Twelfth Step itself to a ten-cent phone call and a cup of coffee, and to A.A.’s General Service Office for national and international action. The sum total of all these services is our Third Legacy of Service.

Services include meeting places, hospital co-op eration, and intergroup offices; they mean pamphlets, books, and good publicity of almost every description. They call for committees, delegates, trustees, and conferences. And, not to be forgot- ten, they need voluntary money contributions from within the Fellowship.”
